MOBCON is back in 2025!
We're back baby! After the success of MOBCON 2024, we're back with another free, 12+ hours of tabletop gaming. MOBCON is our annual Open Day. We hire a hall with the capacity for 100 gamers and throw the doors open for everyone¹ to come and join in for free!
We're also back with the MOBCON features that you've come to expect: free entry, free parking, free tea, coffee and squash, break out room "cafe", the Bring&Buy, bookable demo tables, a great atmosphere, and 12+ hours of gaming with your old friends (and hopefully some new ones too)
If you’re curious about board games and other tabletop games, or if you’re already into the hobby and want to meet other like-minded folk, join us on Saturday October 25, 2025 for MOBCON 2025 and experience twelve+ hours of gaming and community (did we mention that it’s free?!)
¹ While we believe that tabletop gaming is for everyone, and we strive to be open and inclusive, we are not set up for the safeguarding of minors (we’re just too small an organisation at the moment). As a result, our events are open to all adults, while under-eighteens must be accompanied by a responsible adult, and under-sixteens may attend only by prior agreement with the organizers. The full rules for Meeple of Basingstoke events can be found here

What is MOBCON?
We’ve already said that MOBCON is our annual free Open Day event, but that doesn’t really tell you much about what goes on. So let’s fill you in on the detail.
At MOBCON we have 20+ tables set up for gaming, we also have two side rooms, one of which is used as a break out and refreshments room, the other hosts our Bring and Buy sale (more of which, later).
Tables are available on a first-come-first-served basis, and we provide “players wanted” signs to help attendees know which tables are accepting “drop in” gamers. So either grab a spare table to play a game that you and your friends have brought along to play together, grab a table and start setting up a game you want to share with new friends, or find a table displaying a “players wanted” flag and ask to join in.
If you’re still stuck, find somebody wearing an orange lanyard and ask them to help you, we’ll be more than pleased to do so! However you want to join in with the fun, we’re here to help.
A note about demos and playtests at MOBCON
Meeple of Basingstoke fully supports all aspects of the tabletop gaming hobby, including the wonderful designers and publishers who provide us with the games that we love to play. However, MOBCON is a very small event and doesn't have the attendee numbers to provide a pool of people who are there to experience unreleased designs. We have a bookable demo table set aside for those who wish to get involved, but we ask that designers refrain from running demos at other tables, so that less experienced gamers aren't put in the awkward position of a "surprise demo".
